Do you own a business in the East Kootenay area? If so, you can sign up as a Locals Card participating business and enjoy the great benefits until April 1st 2012. The fee to join as a participating business is
only $100+hst for the full year. After April 1st 2012 businesses have the option to join again for the next year.

How to join . . .
Please send an email to info@localscard.com, printing your contact details and mentioning that you would like to join as a business. We will send out a Locals Card agreement shortly after. Please return the filled out agreement to us by email or post. We will contact you in regards to your business information that will be shown on LOCALSCARD.com and to make an appointment to come by to supply you with Locals Cards and signage.

Why should your business join the Locals Card campaign?
By becoming a Locals Card participating business your business will experience:

• Increased business sales: During the shoulder seasons, as residents are provided with an effective incentive to shop locally. During the peak seasons, as visitors look for quality products and services for a reasonable price.
• Improved community identity as you demonstrate your business as a caring and supportive member of your community.
• Enhanced business recognition as a forerunner in creating and building a sustainable local economy.
• Improved shopping atmosphere and product turn-over as cardholders frequent your business more often.

As a participating business you . . .

• Will be featured on LOCALSCARD.com with a full web page, and a link provided to your website.
• Will be mentioned in every Locals Card advertisement in GO Kimberley magazine throughout the year.
• Will receive FREE Locals Cards for you and your employees.
• Will have the opportunity to reach card holders with an extra Locals Card promotion every 2 months. Send us a 40 word description of the promotion and we will send out an email to all Locals Card holders.
• May choose to sell the Locals Card, collecting a $2 profit for your business with each card you sell.

As a participating business you agree to . . .

• Provide a 10% discount, at the time of purchase, on products or services priced up to $300 and a 5% discount on individual products or services priced $300 and over to valid Locals Card holders throughout the entire Locals Card campaign time period running from March 20th, 2011 to April 1st, 2012, excluding already discounted products and services or in-store promotions. Alcohol, tobacco products, medical services and any other products and/or service not allowed to be discounted by law are also excluded.
• Visibly display the provided Locals Card signage by the cash register in your business for the duration of the Locals Card campaign year which runs from March 20th, 2011 to April 1st, 2012.
• Actively support the Locals Card campaign and promote its success by:
  - Asking customers if they have a Locals Card priore to purchase.
  - Mentioning to Locals Card customers how much they saved with their card on their purchase.
  - Encouraging customers to purchase a Locals Card.
  - Supporting other Locals Card businesses.
